LG U8180 Review - A Review of the LG U8180 Mobile Phone by Jonathan Baker

While the LG U8180 is indeed as practical as the company advertises, it is also an extremely fun phone to own. In fact, once all of the features are tallied it's hard to imagine this being an everyday go to phone instead of a tiny technological treasure.

First of all, the LG U8180 is a very attractive flip style phone. With a silver hinge, black external antenna, perfectly sized 65,000 color exterior screen surrounded by silver (which is then framed in black), it will literally go with any outfit the user owns. Owners will be surprised to find that it isn't just a pretty package, but it also packed with a ton of features that will keep them busy during flight delays and layovers.

For example, the internal screen is large and shows 262,000 colors in all of their vibrant glory. This will come in handy when utilizing the video telephony feature, which lets users see the people they're talking to on the phone, in real time, as long as their phone is also compatible.

On top of that, the U8180 also has a built in music player that supports all popular file formats, including MP3 and AAC. Owners will enjoy the playlist function that allows them to organize their music as they see fit. When music isn't what they want, users can turn to the video player function that can keep them occupied for ages.

Best yet, all of the media can be enjoyed with the 64 polyphonic MIDI speakers that are astoundingly accurate and can compete with home stereo systems, albeit on a smaller scale. Additionally, thanks to WAP 2.0 technology, the internet is just a few clicks through the menu away. With the LG U8180, literally nothing is out of reach, including web based email, games, news, ringtones and games.

LG U8200 Review - A Review of the LG U8200 Cellular Phone by Jonathan Baker

Recently, LG has been making a lot of technological advancements that many of the other cell phone manufacturers just haven't been able to catch up on. A classic example of this is the real time face to face communication feature that can be found on the LG U8200. With this, users can speak to others, almost like in a teleconference, as long as the other party has a similarly enabled cell phone.

Besides the face to face technology, the U8200 is an all around cool phone to own. With a black and silver tone exterior, this phone is as stylish as it is practical and manages to put the fun back into functional. For example, because of the WAP 2.0 technology users can download games to their heart's content. The external memory option ensures that there will be plenty of room for all of the bells and whistles that owners decide to carry on their phone.

Additionally, the U8200 has a powerful 1.3 megapixel digital camera that also takes video. The 180 degree rotating lens will snap shots at virtually any angle while the flash helps to make pictures as bright as possible when the conditions are dark and dreary. When pictures aren't enough to keep the owner occupied they can rely on the MP3/AAC/MPEG4 player to cure even the worst case of boredom.

The LG U8200's two displays, one internal and one external, are both full color. More practical features include voice memo, organizer, PC synchronization, photo editor and an alarm. The standard lithion ion battery lasts a ridiculously long time, so users don't have to worry about lugging around a charger wherever they travel. All things considered, this is a great phone for everyone, from a soccer mom to a stylish sycophant.

Nokia 6500 Slide Mobile Phone Review - Easy, Sturdy and Packed with Features by Brad Croften

The Nokia 6500 Slide is a slide design 3G mobile phone. It boasts better features than the Nokia 6500 Classic although it's not so thin or lightweight. This phone is sleek and trendy and has a 2.2 inch high colour screen which can display up to 16 million colours. This mobile also features TV output, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a well functioning media player.

The silver and black brushed metal panels on the front and back are durable and look stylish. The 6500 Slide weighs 123 grams and it is a bit chunky and awkward in shape to carry in your pocket if you've been using a lighter, smaller model. Also, the screen is slightly on the dark side and can be tricky to view in direct light.

The phone only comes with 20MB of built-in memory but it does come with a 256MB microSD card which you can slot under the battery cover. This means you can use memory cards up to 4GB, so you can take full advantage of the 6500's media player. The headphones you get with the phone are quite basic and not sound-isolating, but they aren't too bad.

There are twin cameras on the Nokia 6500 Slide to enable video calls. The one on the back has a Carl Zeiss lens and auto-focus. This camera is perhaps not as good as those in some of the N-series range but the pictures are pretty sharp nonetheless. Unfortunately there is no camera lens with the camera and it is quite easy to get it dirty or scratched. You do, however, get an 8x digital zoom for photos (4x for video) with the 6500 Slide so it's not all bad. You can also connect your 6500 Slide directly to the FlickrĂ‚® website and share your photos with your friends. Video is captured at 15 frames a second, which produces good results.

The Nokia 6500 has a TV output so you can connect the phone to your TV to view videos or photos or listen to music. This feature works very well with music and photos but videos created on your phone do tend to look even jerkier on a big screen.

This phone has 6 hours of talk-time and 320 hours battery standby. If you're listening to music, playing games or talking on the phone a lot, be prepared to have to charge it every day. The Nokia 6500 Slide also has USB and Bluetooth connectivity, Java games and applications, quad-band, 64-voice polyphonic ringtones and an x-HTML web browser. The games which come with the phone are pretty snazzy, especially the Poker and Golf, and you can download more. There is, however, no document viewer and you can't view full web pages on this phone. The Nokia 6500 is fairly features packed but better for personal than business users because of what it does lack.

The chunkiness and weight of the Nokia 6500 Slide might put some people off but the TV output is a good idea and it has all the other features you would expect to find on an up to date 3G mobile phone.
